About Our Family
A Family of Faith with a Divine Mission
The Liberty Church of Christ is a family of faith with a divine mission in our community, state, nation, and world.
We are family through the faith that each of us have because of our study of God's word and our trust in what He wrote there for our lives. It is a common bond of hope, love, compassion, devotion, mercy, self-control, worship, fellowship, and salvation. It is a family where people strive to be like Jesus Christ.

Our divine mission as the family of God is to share our faith through the teaching of God's word to those that are lost in their sins. Each member of this family knows what it means to be lost, because we all know the failure of sin. Thanks be to God, such knowledge does not define us because the blood of Jesus was shed to save us from our failures. Therefore, no one is considered unworthy or unwanted in the mission of salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Our mission is YOU! Jesus' mission when He died on the cross was EVERY PERSON! This is our mission and purpose as the Lord's church at Liberty.
History of the Liberty Family
The congregation of the Lord's at Liberty began sometime in the 1800's. In 1889 T.B. Lindsey provided the land for a building to be constructed. The name "Liberty" was decided because of the common determination to find liberty in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They chose "Church of Christ" rather than "Christian Church" because they believed the church should be the Lord's name rather than the disciples'.

Elders were first appointed in 1895. A second building was constructed in 1946 and a the current building was constructed in 1965. Other structures have been added over the years, but the real growth has been in the hearts men and women throughout the years.

The Liberty family of God today continues its legacy of faith and fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord to teach the saving gospel of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection to the whole world.
